About Our Storylines
Hi, I’m Isadora, the storyteller behind Our Storylines.
Storytelling is the oldest art form of humanity, a bridge that connects us across time, cultures, and experiences. Through my performances, tailored story creations for events, and workshops, I aim to bring stories to life in ways that foster connection—whether it’s captivating an audience, crafting narratives for special occasions, or guiding individuals in discovering the power of storytelling for self-expression and growth. I also collaborate with youth centers, schools, and organizations to offer storytelling courses designed specifically for teenagers and young adults.
My journey here was anything but linear. I come from a background in science, a field driven by curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge. But in 2024, after a period of deep transformation, I realized that my true calling lay elsewhere—not in just studying the world, but in helping people find their place in it. That’s when I made the leap to fully dedicate myself to storytelling, blending my analytical mind with my lifelong love for the performing arts.

At the heart of Our Storylines is one simple but profound belief: stories connect us.
They remind us that “the other” is simply a part of us we do not yet know.
A personal turning point
My own life experiences have shown me the impact of storytelling. I grew up in Brazil, in a household shaped by two very different influences—my mother, who taught me to trust my intuition and inner truth, and my father, who ignited my love for knowledge. Our kitchen table was a place of deep conversations, curiosity, and connection.
Years later, my path led me to the Netherlands and into the world of science. But when my father suddenly passed away in 2021, everything started to shift. His loss forced me to go on a journey to re-discover parts of myself that were left behind. That journey of reflection brought me back to storytelling—not just as an art form, but as a way of creating the meaningful connections I was searching for.
He was the original storyteller of the family, a man who lived many lives but instead of advice, would always choose to share a story instead. When I turned his stories into a book and gave it as a present to him on his 70th birthday, he wondered why anyone would want to read his stories, not knowing the characters in it. What use could his stories have to other people? What could they mean to strangers?

The power of stories
My journey into storytelling began on a cold evening at a local event. I had never been to one before, but the moment I stepped into that warm, candlelit space and heard a story unfold, I knew I wanted to do this. A few months later, I stood on that very stage, telling my first story.
That night changed everything. It wasn’t just about performing; it was about connection. I saw firsthand how stories can bridge gaps, create understanding, and bring strangers together. From that moment on, I was hooked.
I went on to train professionally in storytelling, following the Professional Course in Storytelling at the Mezrab, in Amsterdam. There, I deepened my craft and discovered a calling beyond performance. I realized we need more spaces where people can explore their own narratives, relate to the stories of others, and build community through shared experiences. So, I created my own storytelling events, workshops, and courses.
Today, I tell stories, craft them for meaningful occasions, teach the art of storytelling, and explore its power for personal growth. Because at its core, storytelling is not just about words—it’s about understanding ourselves and each other in a way nothing else can.
